Tucson is no stranger to the blues. Our very own frequent blues music purveyors, The Southern Arizona Blues Heritage Foundation and KXCI, are showcasing a talented artist in her Southern Arizona debut. Missy Anderson draws on blues inspiration from Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington and Ray Charles on her newest album, "In the Moment." She is currently a nominee for Soul Blues Artist Female in this year's Blues Music Awards. Anderson will perform on Friday, June 12 at the Boondocks Lounge, 3306 N. 1st Ave., from 8 to 11 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advanced at the Boondocks for $9 and $12 day of show. SABHF and KXCI members receive a $3 discount. For more information on Anderson's music visit missyandersen.com.
