War

Bring earplugs. Former music-video director Philip G. Atwell has created an extremely loud barrage of car crashes, gunfights and acts of destruction. In between acts of high-volume violence is a banal storyline involving an unfeeling hit man who instigates the titular battle between two rival Asian gangs. Meanwhile, a grizzled cop with a permanent scowl plows his way toward justice and vengeance for the life of his partner, taken by the aforementioned assassin. Writers Gregory Bradley and Lee Anthony Smith throw a few too many Hail Mary plot twists at the end, convoluting things. Meanwhile, the sonorous soundtrack remains incredibly loud.
