Re: “Police Dispatch

Thank you for this story, I was truely offended as on the same day Gabbie was shot I lost my sister due to mentail illness. Lets get one thing straight about that day his parents may have tried to get him help, we tried to get her help in fact we had a court order for 180 days of in house treatment. But because she did not quailfy for AHCCCS just medicare, She was "cured" because her insurance refused to pay the bill. Our system is broken and it will only get worse as the State tries to "protect" public safety, now how do we do that when we over tax the system with seriously mentally Ill people who would'nt be there otherwise?

Re: “A Morning Massacre

Sadly most of these events can be attributed to lack of funds and failiures to the mental health system, 45 mins before this all happened in Sierra Vista my sister lost her own battle with mental illness in my home. Now because of the horrible events of that day my family will have painful reminders of what day it is for years to come. I cannot imagine what it is like to have to watch about your loved one for days on end. My heart goes out to all the familys effected by this.

Re: “Senior Switch

These bully agencies need to be stopped, that collection agency should have to pay her HUGE damages to and have to forgive the debt for such an extreme error. More laws are not needed better enforment of existing ones is very much needed.

Re: “Predators and Prey

Sadly all these laws make it easier for those who want to reoffend to do so. First there should be a way to step down and off the list. I would say 10 yrs for each level is good enough and the few really bad ones should be given a lifetime committment( reviewed annually). That way we do not end up with nursing homes fill with sex offenders who have been law abiding for 50 years. It's a fact Sex offenders are only 7% likely to re offend and I am sure gets lower after many years of no new offenses. As for lifetime probation it is another knee jerk reaction that has overtaxed the Probation officers. AGAIN too many laws make it harder to track the offenders who need to be tracked and easier for repeat offenders to offend without getting a second look.
