Justin Schmidt, research director of the Southwest Biological Institute presents "The Sting Is the Thing (or Why Insects Sting)" at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, at Western National Parks Association, 12880 N. Brad Story of the UA Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences presents "The Amazing Talking Machine: How Humans Produce Sound for Communication" at the Mountain View Country Club Ballroom, 38759 S.
