UA Downtown Lecture Series – ‘Two Ancient Philosophers on Why Death is No Evil’

When: Wed., Nov. 4, 6:30-8 p.m. 2015

Ancient philosophers Plato & Epicurus disagreed on whether the soul is immortal, yet neither thought death is to be feared. Instead, both argued that death gives us a reason to live. Rachana Kamtekar, professor in the Department of Philosophy, explores these views and relevance today.
