Transgender Awareness Week

When: Wed., Nov. 20 2013

Transsexual, transgender, gender-queer, masculine-of-gender, feminine-of-gender, two-spirit, butch, femme, gender-fluid, masculine-of-center, feminine-of-center and the entire gender galaxy are celebrated in Transgender Awareness Week 2013: Celebrating Trans* Life! from Wednesday through Monday, Nov. 20 through 25. The week includes lectures, workshops, poetry, a potluck, a resource fair, a vigil and procession, a salsa party, live music, health testing, and more. A Kickoff and Resource Fair takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the UA Mall. A procession in honor of the International Trangender Day of Remembrance begins at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the UA Women's Plaza of Honor and proceeds to Wingspan, 430 E. Seventh St., for a youth and parent panel and a harvest meal. Visit for complete information and a schedule.
