The story is about the neglect of INMATES!!!, NOT EMPLOYEES!!!
I am glad to see that someone has seen the problem and reported it on a public forum.... I have news for you.... That is just the tip of the iceburg... A very old one. All State and Federal prisons are doing this and so much more, that is to say NOTHING in regards to inmates, their healthcare, diagnosis and treatment of catastrophic illnesses. There is even more travesty, mistreatment, and uncaring behavior towards inmates in most facilities. Why? I don't know How many times I have read comments exclaiming the fact that the Inmates are felons, lowlifes, etc....so the treatment is just too bad, that's tough, they should have thought about that, before committing crimes, blah, blah, blah.....
Yet, so many citizens can't put 2 and 2 together, as they sit and wonder what the world is coming to.... The violence is rising and spreading..... No one is immune from it. It is time for serious prison reform!!! Some real rehabilitation for addicts, as well as segregation of inmates, who have drug problems/no violence/and some redeeming qualities, absolutely must be kept out of facilities where violent offenders, whose crimes are committed on other inmates as well as the innocent citizens of our land, are housed.
If just this one small concession were made for people who have drug addictions and some real rehab and behavior modification, positive reinforcement in the institution, where they are treated with respect, and are taught to do for others, connect with family and friends, and care about something/someone BESIDES themselves, those people will begin to believe in change, learn what self worth and self esteem is and how to create it, then share it through mentoring, and their lives will be forever changed and in turn they will become the best of the best. Someone who has made the wrong choices, was never cared for or taught in their childhood, became addicted because they self medicated in order to keep facing a world that didn't seem to care at all about what had befallen them through no fault of their own...... This person is a more powerful individual, who thinks of others ,reaches out to others, helps those in need, and becomes a role model and mentor. These people who WE help will begin to see and do for those who are like they Used to be..... The world will become a better place to live if we all pay it forward...
