Arizona was due for redistricting and the Republicans won the power in the state legislature. If the Dems had won you would be all excited about how the GOP was going to be eliminated from power. Them's the rules...get over it.

To be part of the American Dream means to go through the immigration process legally. To eventually swear an oath of allegiance, to renounce allegiance to all foreign states or sovereignties.

Entering the country illegally.... waving the flag of the country you just left and claiming that the name of the country is Atzatln, that it was stolen from you and you're going to retake it does NOT in anyway endear you to the citizens of the United States.

People in Arizona are concerned enough that there are areas of the state posted as being dangerous for Arizona citizens to enter because of the danger imposed by drug smugglers and by "coyotes" transporting illegal aliens in to this country. There are Mexican drug cartels that are threatening to assassinate local law enforcement officers.

The process of defending the border IS the responsibility of the Federal Government. If the Obama administration will not defend the border that responsibility then falls onto the states. If those incursions by the drug cartels and by the Mexican military cannot be stopped we may see the actions of 1846-1848 or the actions of 1916-1917 repeat themselves. Let's hope things can be solved in a peaceful manner, I have no real desire to see Baja, Sonora, Chihuahua and the other Mexican border states become U.S. territories.

    God Bless John J. Pershing

Congratulations on a fair and well written article, there was no mention of the political affiliation of the politicians nor was there any comment by the author of the article.. just the presentation of facts
