The people of Tucson want to pick their own mayor. we don't want people who live in Phoenix, Oro Valley, Sahuarita, Marana, or unincorporated Pima County trying to decide who gets on the ballot. If you can't get enough registered voters that live in Tucson City Limits to sign your petitions, you don't get to run for mayor. and if you are so disorganized or ill prepared to get such signatures, you probably shouldn't be mayor.
They will need to find ways to work with some of the few moderate Rs to block some of the more evil bills that Pearce is most certain to put forth. and maybe even prevent overrides of any Brewer vetoes. (with Brewer hoping to gain more national attention, hopefully she will veto at least SOME of the crap that is sure to come out of the leg.)
Congressional Districts, created after the 2000 Census, contained about the same POPULATION at the time they were created, not how many registered voters. Both districts have seen an increase in population growth since they were created, but CD8 has grown significantly more than CD7.
and Geremia has it wrong, 2x more votes were cast in CD8 than CD7.
