The Hog Pit is a new BBQ restaurant on the east side of Tucson. We are NOT looking to imitate other styles of BBQ from around the country; our goal is produce GREAT Smoked meats. If there are any similarities with a particular regional style, it's because it reflects a profile we admire and like. We are very much aware that BBQ is a very personal kind of food, it’s kind of like Coca Cola and Pepsi, we all have our preference, and it's very personal! We at The Hog Pit, are true BBQ aficionados, and are passionate about producing a GREAT BBQ. We have created our very own BBQ sauces as well as dry rubs. Our meats are always dry rubbed and allowed to mature, then are placed in our 1400 lb. smoker with pecan wood. The smoke process is slow and at very low temperatures. Some of our meats take as long as 16 hrs to perfect. The Hog Pit is NOT a national or large corporate owned store. We are locally owned and operated. We have been involved members of the Tucson community for over 35 years. The Hog Pit is a proud member of The Tucson Originals, a locally founded organization that promotes locally owned fine restaurants. With the support of our customers, The Hog Pit will only get better, and better. The east side has needed a great BBQ restaurant for a long time. With your support; we intend to fulfill this need for a long time.
