Vince Vaughn stars as Ronny, a man who finds out that the wife (Winona Ryder) of his best friend, Nick (Kevin James), is having an affair. Ronny goes through all sorts of shenanigans in order to find out more about his friend’s wife’s infidelity—while being accused of suffering from a relapse of his gambling addiction. While watching The Dilemma, I found it hard to believe that such accomplished actors and such a talented director (Ron Howard) could make such trash. Vaughn does his über cool-guy routine, which should have been abandoned after Wedding Crashers, and James is wasted as a poor man’s Jon Favreau. The movie does manage to elicit a few mild chuckles … but if the best thing about a movie is Channing Tatum, you know you’re in trouble.
