The heartless street-talking entrepreneur of Internet porn and his bumbling insecure idiotic brother go to France to claim their birthright in this culturally insulting, highly annoying wannabe comedy by Harvard dropout, Jesse Peretz. Due to some convoluted French law, the two Californian siblings, or "Dumb Americans" as they are referred to repeatedly, inherit the anti-Xanadu from a mysterious great-uncle. But, all freebies come with a catch, or two, or three, like years of unpaid bills, needed repairs and a full staff unwilling to leave. This insipid yawn-fest recycles one tired joke after another. Viewers are forced to endure Paul Rudds moronic character babble endlessly in English with a French accent, Romany Malcos arrogant mouth spew more cuss words than Martin Lawrence, and the writer/directors insubstantial script shot in a cheap home-movie look. Maybe this trash is the inevitable result when you team up a former rapper (Malco) from the one-hit-wonder R&B group, the College Boyz, with an ex-director (Peretz) of the Foo Fighters music videos, and a B-movie actor (Rudd) whose claim to fame is playing the incestuous brother with a superiority complex in Clueless.
