Thank You and Get Well

Some random thoughts ...

· In this week's issue, you'll find Yum!, our twice-a-year dining guide. You probably would not believe the amount of work that goes into these special sections. While our food writers--in this case, Renée Downing, Rita Connelly and Karyn Zoldan--turned in their usual fine work, the real stars of this Yum! are the Weekly's summer-intern trio: Laura Hassett, Tess Martinez and Sam Stoker. Not only did each of them contribute a story to the guide; over the last couple of months, the team contacted every one of the restaurants in our Chow Scan listings to verify that all of the information is correct. Thanks to all these intern all-stars for all of their hard work.

· Connie Tuttle's column is running this week in place of Catherine O'Sullivan's column. The reason: Catherine was bucked off of her horse last week, and, as a result, she spent some time in the hospital. Catherine is now home and reports that thanks to some high-powered pharmaceuticals, she's doing a bit better. We hope she'll be back in her regular column slot in two weeks (she normally alternates weeks with Connie); everyone at Weekly World Central wishes Catherine a speedy recovery. Also, thanks to Connie for pinch-hitting on short notice.

· Save the date: The Tucson Area Music Awards--otherwise known as the TAMMIES--will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15, at the Rialto Theatre--and, as always, admission to this awesome concert is free!

· Save this date, too: Best of TucsonTM 21 hits the streets Thursday, Sept. 27.
