Re: “Bill O'Reilly's Healthy Self-Esteem

I'm more concerned that a school principal thinks "conversating" is a word.

Re: “This Is the Last Week to Eat at Montana Avenue

Of the five meals I've had there, only one was any good. My wife and I went there Saturday night for a birthday dinner with another couple because the three of them actually liked the place.

Still, my wife's salmon was raw and ice cold in the middle, and my "medium" burger was likewise.

Good riddance.

Re: “Devilish Details

I've eaten at Elle at the Broadway location on 3 different occasions, and it never failed to disappoint. I'm not surprised it hasn't gotten any better.

Re: “Monthly Miracles

We had been curious about Feast for some time, and this review pushed us over the edge into trying it last weekend, along with some friends who had also wanted to check it out.

What a disappointment. We had the appetizers you mentioned, and the eggplant napoleon was greasy and burnt. I will admit that the lobster bread pudding was very good, and the high point of the evening.

I ordered the short ribs, not expecting the perfection of the short ribs at the Rio Cafe, but hoping for something close. They were certainly not "nearly fall-off-the-bone tender" with "all the flavors blending together". On the contrary, they were tough and bland, and I ended up sending them back. My wife's shrimp was equally rubbery and tasteless.

I wound up with the "black and bleu" sandwich, since nothing else on the menu appealed to me. It was OK, but no better than something I could get at Frankie's or D'aglio's for half the price.

We wondered if Feast was as good as we'd heard, and now we know. We won't be going back.
