Terminator Salvation

The fourth film in the 25 year-old franchise is easily the worst. Christian Bale stars as John Connor, a leader in the resistance against the machines that wiped out most of humanity at the end of Terminator 3. Sam Worthington offers an amusing performance as Marcus Wright, an ex-con who donates his body to science and awakens to a mighty big surprise. The beginning and ending of director McG’s film are so awful that they take the air out of the middle part. It’s a good-looking movie, with a decent action sequence here and there. But the dialogue is often dreadful; it would be a good idea to jettison the writers and director for the next installment. This franchise needs another fresh start.

Terminator Salvation is not showing in any theaters in the area.
