Re: “The Swing District

Proud and Melvin are telling you exactly what they are going to do (and finger in the air Williams will be right with them) - they are going to decimate education funding in this state. Be warned, if you want 40 kids in a class, no gifted, no teacher training, no sports or extra-curricular programs - if you want Arizona to have a 3rd world education system go ahead and vote for them but don't complain after they gut education.

If you want smart leadership that cares about education and understands its importance to economic growth and development vote for Cage and Wright. Remember there are other options than further cuts to educaiton funding. There are $10 billion in tax loopholes that can be closed. Many of them going to out of state or foreign corporations.

The choice is yours and either way all Arizonans will live with the consequences.

Re: “Fighting Words in the Antenori-Camenisch Race

Real mature language Frank. Why would anyone want to elect a bully like Antenori?

Why is the big bad special forces soldier scared to debate a Navy man?

Re: “Races to Watch

Frank Antenori has consistently voted to cut funding for public education. He has spoken publically about favoring more cuts to our universities. Even his boss at Raytheon, Taylor Lawrence has written publically about the importance of our universities to the economic development of southern Arizona. See http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/o…
He did not support Proposition 100 or his own district override. He is not a friend of education or business development in our state.

Re: “Antenori: "The Era of Big-Spending Republicans Is Over"

If Senator Antenori is interested in a real mandate, he should look at the results for Proposition 100 in district 30. That election showed a mandate in favor of funding our public schools. Check out Sen. Antenori's voting record on education funding on voteAZeducation.com and then check out the survey on education submitted by his opponent in Todd Camenisch (Sen. Antenori didn't think education was important enough to bother submitting answers to the survey). If you want a strong Arizona, a healthy economy and businesses moving to our state - it all starts with well funded public schools. Voters interested in in a improving education in our state should check out Todd Camenisch.

Re: “Educating Arizona

There is a forum with all the candidates for Superintendent of Public Instruction tonight (Thursday, August 12) at Rincon High School at 7pm. Questions from the audience will be taken.

Re: “Liquidating Arizona

You failed to mention that the legislature also eliminated AHCCS funding for many heart transplants, all lung transplants and all hepatitis C liver transplants. These patients will die without the transplants. The media was all hyped up about "death panels" this past summer. Why is no one reporting the real death panel - the Arizona Legislature - that just sentenced these people? Why are you not covering this?
