If RollDucksRoll truly didn't have a dog in this fight, he/she shouldn't have attacked the author's intelligence and self-esteem right off the bat. There are nicer ways to point out shortcomings in an article. And to this reader, it was perfectly clear the author recognized Arizona was lower in education - seems that's what the whole paragraph was set up to do.
