In the early 80s, a young English bully named Lee Carter (Will Poulter) drafts one of his classmates, Will Proudfoot (Bill Milner), to help him make a sequel to Sylvester Stallones First Blood. Writer-director Garth Jennings (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) has produced an often hilarious movie about growing up in the 80s, and the way he incorporates Rambo into the whole process is nothing but ingenious. Poulter is quite the find, as is Milner. Their homemade movie is side-splittingly funny (especially when they get an old man at a retirement home to play Rambo). Jennings did a decent job with Hitchhikers, but he does much better with this scaled-down film. The film also provides a great opportunity to enjoy 80s rock classics.
