We need to understand that the large majority of those who come here do so because they need - not want - to. Most are displaced people or refugees. Mexican and other Latin Americans come north because the economy has been ruined in their country (no thanks to US foreign policy) or they are at risk for persecution (thanks to the US financed drug wars). We need to look deeper at why someone would leave their culture, family, language and life-long friends in a countries that have real community and come to a cold, alienating, racist, militarized country instead.
