Sept. 11 Commemorative Walk and Memorial
The City of Tucson Fire Department unions host an event that begins at 7:30 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 11, with Mayor Bob Walkup laying a commemorative wreath at Tucson Fire Station 1, 265 S. Church Ave. Following the ceremony, community members are invited to walk to Reid Park. A memorial service takes place there at 9:30 a.m. at the DeMeester Outdoor Performance Center (the bandshell), and former Surgeon General Richard Carmona will speak. Free.
