Thanks for sharing this story. My mom had a hemorrhagic stroke at 86. She was active, involed in politics, loving her kids and grandkids, until the day of the stroke. We were given the option of surgery, but mom had always told us she didn't want to live if she couldn't walk her little dog Mac. We knew her quality of life was very important to her. So we had to honor her wishes and let her go. So hard, but 13 years later, we still know it was the right decision. Blessing to you.
