Runnin' at Midnite

Shot almost entirely in South Tucson, Runnin' at Midnight is the story of a midnight basketball program and the local kids who make it their haven from the gangs and violence of the streets. You're sure to recognize all the locales, and you may even know many of the actors, who were drawn from the local talent pool. Manny Vidal plays Brandon, a phenomenal basketball player who's struggling to keep away from street life. He's joined by former gang member Circles (Alexis Levario), wounded ball player Daryl "DK" King (Michael Clark) and police officer Izzy Boroguez, who organizes the basketball league and finds himself fighting with his players and with the city council, who want to de-fund the program. Runnin' at Midnight was shot entirely on digital video in only 18 days, and is the first feature shot in South Tucson by a South Tucson filmmaker.

Runnin' at Midnite is not showing in any theaters in the area.
