Prickly Pear Harvest at the Desert Museum

Learn to harvest prickly pear pads (nopalitos) and fruit, and make jelly, syrup and frozen sorbet from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 21. Workshop leaders discuss the historic importance of this fruit, as well as agave, cholla buds and mesquite, to desert animals and people. $60. Lunch is included. Call 883-3086 for more information.
