Sandra Bullock stars as Linda Hanson, a woman whos come unstuck in time. Living one week out of sequence, she goes to her husbands funeral, then spends the night with him, then hears about his death, then has a heart-to-heart talk with him, etc. Its like shes applied the Iraq war plan to the narrative of her life. Most of this film is a well-played, nicely edited and effectively creepy Hitchcockian thriller. Unfortunately, theres a clumsily tacked-on ending thats about redemption and closure. If I wanted to see that, I would have tuned into Lifetimes My Two Mothers Are Coke Addicts
. If director Mennan Yapo and writer Bill Kelly had just trimmed their story so that it concluded when the mystery was solved, theyd have had a nicely made product on their hands. Instead, they added on an additional movie that blunts the force of the first one.
