Don't Toy With Traffic

North Thornydale Road, Jan. 13, 10:29 p.m.

A car full of young people reportedly caused a scene when one passenger appeared to threaten passing vehicles with a gun, said a Pima County Sheriff's Department report.

The reportee stated that she had been driving on Interstate 10 when a two-door 1970 Dodge passed her at a high rate of speed, and a male in the back began waving a handgun out the window, often pointing it at other cars. The reportee, thinking "it would be a good idea to follow them," drove behind the vehicle until it pulled into a gas station, and then she called law enforcement.

Upon arrival, sheriff's deputies located the vehicle's six former occupants and arrested the teenage male who had been causing the trouble. Advised that there was a weapon in the backseat of the car, they searched it and confiscated a black toy machine gun with an orange trigger.

The young man who had been brandishing the toy was arrested. He was most concerned about retrieval of the evidence, since the toy was on loan from a friend.

It's My Stuff; I Can Destroy It

West Firebrook Road, Jan. 13, 3:29 a.m.

An angry and inebriated woman unable to locate her ex-boyfriend allegedly trashed his residence and destroyed her own things, according to a PCSD report. Sheriff's deputies apprehended the subject in her vehicle, which she was driving erratically. She admitted she had been drinking tequila and had gone to her ex-boyfriend's house. When she found he was not home, she admitted, she began to scream and started breaking nearby items. She insisted, however, that the destroyed items--a flower pot, a crock pot, a microwave and some furniture--belonged to her, and that she was on the house's lease. "I could trash my house if I want to," she said. "That's my stuff." She was arrested for criminal damage, among other charges.

Panty-Pinching Peeper

North Swan Road, Jan. 12, 3:42 p.m.

A northside laundry-room larcenist also appears to be a stalker, according to a PCSD report.

The victim reported that when she had gone to her apartment-complex laundry room, approximately six to seven pairs of underwear were missing from the dryer. She believed the suspect is a tough-looking 50-something Caucasian male with a long gray beard who often wears a bandana or cap. She said that for two months, she had seen this man sitting near her vehicle every morning, watching her go to work. She tried changing her parking space, but the man was always there.

She said that man was sitting in the laundry room when she dropped off her clothes. She promised to report any other suspicious behavior.
