Freddy Krueger Calling
Ina Road and La Cholla Boulevard, Nov. 26, 12:13 p.m.
A woman received scary phone calls from a man identifying himself as "Death Row," a Pima County Sheriff's Department report said.
The woman said that at about 11:30 p.m., she received a phone call from someone she didn't know. The caller was "acting weird and asking questions," she told authorities.
The mysterious caller then phoned her again at about 12:28 a.m. She told deputies that she moved her baby's crib away from a window after the call, because she was frightened.
The next day, the woman took a friend to work and then started cleaning out her car. That's when she reportedly found a note that said, "Moving the crib? Why? Don't be scared ladies, just having fun messing with you."
The woman said she had not told anyone about moving the crib and didn't know how someone could know that she had.
A deputy phoned the number that had shown up on the woman's caller ID. A man on the other end said he had been at a bar until about 12:30 a.m. He claimed to not know anything about the mysterious phone calls.
Deputies provided the woman with information on how to make her home more secure. There was no further information at the time of the report.
The Element Of Surprise
Benson Highway and Alvernon Way, Nov. 26, 6:36 p.m.
A pair of teenage boys set up a roadblock so they could pelt cars with rocks, a PCSD report stated.
The report said a big log and a box spring tipped up against it were in the middle of the roadway. "This was apparently used so that vehicles would stop at that location, and two juveniles would ambush the vehicles and throw rocks," the report stated.
A witness described the boys as two 15-year-olds who ran into some bushes after the ambush, and then took off on bikes. A victim's car suffered a minor dent near the rear door on the passenger side.
