A 57-year-old man said he was shot in the buttocks with a pellet gun after taking the trash out, a Pima County Sheriff's Department report stated.
The man was reportedly in his front yard with his back to the road when he felt he had been hit. He said he had his wife, who was also present, check his buttocks. She noted a large red welt, but no bleeding, the report said.
The man said he saw a red Chevrolet Blazer driving away from his home just after the incident. He could not provide a deputy with a description of anyone inside the vehicle.
There were no suspects or other witnesses at the time of the report.

A woman phoned authorities to report that someone had ripped feathers out of the emu she keeps on her property, a PCSD record said.
A deputy who responded to the call noted that feathers were missing from the emu's wings and neck. It appeared that someone had unsuccessfully attempted to capture the animal.
The report said there were lots of footprints in the area where the animal stays. The emu's owner said she suspected that either "undocumented foreign nationals" or possibly children were responsible for its injuries.
There were no witnesses or suspects at the time of the report.
Porn on the Job
UA Area, Dec. 10, 10:44 a.m.
According to a University of Arizona Police Department report, a UA employee suspected a custodial staff member was using a school computer to surf the Internet for pornographic material.
The employee at the Forbes Building, 1140 S. Campus Drive, said she found pornographic Web sites logged in the computer's history folder. An officer counted 16 such Web sites when he took a look.
The door to the computer lab was locked at all times, the employee said. However, custodial staff had access to the room to clean it around 4 a.m., causing the employee to suspect one of them had been involved.
The officer informed the custodial supervisor of the employee's suspicions. The supervisor said he would keep an eye on the temporary employee assigned to clean the lab.
