Re: “Curator Joshua Chuang Out at Troubled Center for Creative Photography

..more of the internal rot driven by the continuing refusal of Arizona to provide adequate funding for education in general and our cultural gems in particular. Much as we are losing our educators in droves from all levels of teaching, as the cuts in education funding takes its toll, so too these unique resources that were placed in our care by men of vision, are being defiled by short sighted political hacks whose popularity stems from promises of no cost government.
It is no surprise that a man of Chuangs stature would not forfeit his future to simply being a maintainer of the trove of photos at the CCP, the desire of the cost cutting crowd.
By allowing this to happen, we get what we deserve.

Re: “Why The Confederate Flag Represents Hate Groups

Took several days, but now we have the excuses we needed..

Sure Storm Roof was naughty, but just look at that black on black stuff....and rap music, oh my goodness..

...and they want to take our beloved Standard Banner off of my license plate...and off the state capital...and leave the MP3 players alone...where's the justice....

Re: “The Falling Fortunes of Apollo Education Group (University of Phoenix)

..Arizona is heaven for corporate profiteers seeking to provide services that in a proper society should be borne, without the profit component, and which assures maltreatment of the "beneficiaries" as every dollar not spent for needed services drops to the bottom line. Similar to the for profit health insurance model that we are so familiar with. Private prisons and education profiteers do well because Arizonas' GOP politicians are so cheaply bought.

Re: “Why The Confederate Flag Represents Hate Groups

When it comes to symbolism, not sure if the swastika is more vile than the Sterling Banner, about which its creator said this: ...it symbolizes the "supremacy of the white man," according to William T. Thompson, the flag's designer. "As a people we are fighting to maintain the Heaven-ordained supremacy of the white man over the inferior or colored race," http://www.latimes.com/visuals/graphics/la…
If you are descended from someone who was kidnaped, forced into slavery, had his children sold for cash and his women raped by their owner, it's asking a bit much to overlook the symbolism of that practice being rubbed in your face by some folks who just want to celebrate the nostalgia of the treason.

Re: “Survey Says …

Good point Smitty. Obama has managed to save the US from the Bush depression, get medical care for 10,000,000 uninsured Americans, kill Bin Laden, and achieve a number of other benefits for Americans in spite of constant sniping and entrenched resistance from the neanderthal opposition, both elected and simply stupid. Ducey's journey to dismantle Arizona for the benefit of short sighted tax protestors has just begun. But he promises to be the Arizona equivalent of other GOP hero governors like Brownback, Scott and Christy. Knuckle dragging state CEO's committed to destroying their states by dismantling or underfunding infrastructure and education. Primarily by allowing the resident plutocrats to avoid taxes by getting very dumb people to vote for incompetent candidates. You seem proud of that.
