Over Her Dead Body
Eva Longoria Parker perfected the part of a neurotic, controlling vixen on Desperate Housewives with the help of the TV show’s witty writing. However, in the hands of writer/director Jeff Lowell, her psychoses fizzle. In this unromantic anti-comedy, Longoria Parker stars as a bride-to-be who dies on her wedding day. (Death by ice sculpture; isn’t that funny?) Paul Rudd co-stars as the fiancé with whom she had no chemistry. He now is forced to commune with the recently deceased through a clichéd psychic. However, the living hit it off, leading the jealous and dead bridezilla to attempt slapstick stunts. Over Her Dead Body is dead on arrival.
