2011's "Word of the Year" is coming to Tucson in a fresh way—so fresh that it's practically straight from the farm. Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway Blvd., will be showing the documentary "Occupy The Farm" on Tuesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. The film documents the journey of 200 urban farmers determined to keep farmland from corporate agendas. The farmers walk onto a public research farm and plant two acres of crops in hopes of saving it from being turned into real-estate development. The movie has received raves from critics about its power to engage the audience. The screening, hosted by Edible Baja Arizona, will have speakers following up on topics covered in the film. Tickets are $9.25 for adults, $7.50 for students and military personnel, and $6.25 for seniors and children. The event's Facebook page has more info.
