It did not take long for the spot that housed The Heist to get a new resident. The freestanding restaurant, located at 7131 E. Broadway Blvd., is now under construction for the next concept to have a run at the former Grandy's. Coming soon: The Oink Café. The family-owned operation from Phoenix, will be opening their second location here. The café states they specialize in "breakfast, lunch, and bacon!" They take their cured pork belly serious, folks. The Phoenix locale serves up eight different kind of bacon, and even offers "bacon flights." Okay, I cannot say or type that without completely busting into Snow's 1992, one-hit wonder, "You know say Daddy Snow me, I'm gonna blame a licky boom-boom down," but I digress. As you should have seen in The Range, Reforma Cocina Y Cantina has opened in the old Vivace spot in St. Phillip's Plaza, 4310 N. Campbell Ave. This is not your average enchilada style-everything Mexican food that we're familiar with in baja Arizona. The folks that brought you Union Public House have done a nice job of bringing Mexico City-style cuisine to the food scene. Central Mexican food uses many different spices, fruits, nuts and ingredients than their Sonoran counterparts, while some things may also be very familiar.
