Five Guys Burgers

Five Guys Burgers is bringing its old-fashioned hamburgers to Tucson. Molly Catalano, director of communications for the Washington, D.C.-based company, said the first Tucson store is on schedule to open in September at 2802 N. Flavor of India

Oro Valley will gain another ethnic-dining destination when Flavor of India opens in the shopping center at 12112 N. Rancho Vistoso Blvd. Sadhu, Tarsem and Mukhtiar Singh—the brothers who have owned and operated Gandhi Cuisine of India for 15 years—plan to have the new eatery open by September.


Garlic, Tomatoes and Basil

Garlic, tomatoes and basil are ready for harvest, and vendors at the Oro Valley Farmers' Market—in the Town Hall on the corner of La Cañada Drive and Naranja Road—will be selling heirloom tomatoes, basil, roasted garlic, sundried-tomato-and-basil bread and numerous related foods on Saturday, July 17. Peaches and Corn

Apple Annie's Produce and Pumpkins (6405 W. Williams Road, Willcox) holds an event featuring sweet corn galore from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18. Apple Annie's Orchard (2081 W. Hardy Road, Willcox) features peach ice cream, peach pie and all-you-can-eat peach pancakes at peach-themed events from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., every Saturday and Sunday, through Aug. 15. World of Chocolate

Witness the power of chocolate when the Grill at Hacienda del Sol unleashes creations by pastry chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph at 6 p.m., Tuesday, July 20. Expect items like white-chocolate-lemon-blueberry pudding; milk-chocolate ice cream with ginger-infused mango salsa; and chocolate cheesecake served with jalapeño truffle, all served with cocktails or wine for $25. Update: May's Counter Chicken and Waffles

Converting the old Pizza Hut building at 2945 E. Speedway Blvd. into May's Counter Chicken and Waffles turned out to be more work than the owners expected. The opening is now scheduled to take place in early August, said co-owner John Foster.
