Tavolino Ristorante's New Digs

Tavolino Ristorante has moved from 7090 N. Oracle Road to the former VinTabla spot at 2890 E. Skyline Drive. The new location opened Monday and boasts an open kitchen and a salumeria where cured meats are sliced for antipasto and to-go orders. Expect house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas and rotisserie meats. Lunch hours: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Gluten-Free Food Faire

As gluten-free awareness has increased, so has attendance at Tucson's annual Gluten-Free Food Faire, which takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, April 24, on the grounds of Christ Community Church, 7801 E. Kenyon Drive. Organizer Pat Hirsch says food will be provided by El Charro Café, Tucson Tamale Company and others, and that more than 25 vendors of gluten-free goods are expected. Café Passé Doubles

A grand opening for the newly expanded Café Passé (415 N. Fourth Ave.) takes place from 6 to 10 p.m., Thursday, April 22. The expansion doubles the amount of seating, features three new retail/gallery spaces and has a stage that will be christened with performances by the Tryst, Duo Sonido, the Awkward Moments and the Fell City Shouts. The outdoor seating area is also being upgraded, and there's word that movie nights will be held there soon; 624-4411.
