Sipping a latte at the café at Maynards Market and Kitchen is a beautiful thing, thanks to two artistic baristas. Flower, heart and leaf designs are worked into the foam by carefully pouring the espresso through the steamed milk, says barista Lily Dicker-Thompson. Dicker-Thompson says those are just the basic designs, and that she and fellow barista Carrie Levesque often get much more elaborate. "People are taken aback," said Dicker-Thompson. "They always comment that it's too beautiful to drink." The lattes are available from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., daily; 400 N. Toole Ave.; 545-0577.
