New: Ginza

Sushi and Japanese tapas-style dining called izakaya debuted in late January at Ginza, located at 5425 N. Kolb Road. This space was formerly occupied by Yama. Ginza is open for lunch Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner nightly from 5 to 10 p.m.; 529-8877.

First Anniversary Celebration

Crave Espresso Bar, located at 4530 E. Broadway Blvd., celebrates its one-year anniversary with a sip-and-savor celebration, on Sunday, April 27, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The catered event with beer and wine is by invitation only, but you can be invited by picking up an invitation at Crave. Wine and Farm Festival

Canelo Hills Vineyard and Winery will host its second annual wine and farm festival on Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 342 Elgin Road in Elgin. The festival will feature wine, artisan farm products and local artwork from Santa Cruz and Cochise counties. For $5, festival-goers can sample wines from three different wineries, and winemakers will be on hand to discuss their pours. Admission to the festival is free. Closed: Café Jinx

Dominque Francesca, owner of Café Jinx on Fourth Avenue, let us know that the café is now closed, and she's moving on to other artistic endeavors. Good luck.

Closed: Santillo's

Bye-bye beef on kummelweck, the Buffalo, N.Y., version of a French-dip sandwich. Chopstix is slated to open in that northwest location next. Is that a cursed location? Si Grille didn't last very long, either.

Presumed Closed: Raz

Last week, the voicemail said the restaurant was closed for renovation. Who renovates a restaurant during the season? Another media source reported it closed, and now calls to the phone number get an odd busy signal. An e-mail to the restaurant was not returned.
