Father's Day Dining

Take Dad to Terra Cotta on Father's Day for Sunday brunch. Enjoy oven-fresh pastries and build-your-own eggs Benedict, or choose from a list of other entrées, including prime rib. The $20-per-person (excluding tax and gratuity) brunch is an amazing deal, as it also includes a Bloody Mary, mimosa or freshly squeezed orange juice; 3500 E. Sunrise Drive; 577-8100.

All of the eight Metro Restaurants (McMahon's Prime Steakhouse, Old Pueblo Grille on Alvernon Way and in the Foothills Mall, Metro Grill Park Place, Metropolitan Grill, City Grill, The Grill on the Green and Firecracker Bistro) will feature a special-price meal for Dad's big day. Plus, each restaurant will have a contest with a chance to win a round of golf at Canoa Ranch Golf Club plus lunch for four at The Grill on the Green (first prize), or a round of golf for four at Canoa Ranch (second prize).

Thursday Night Fever

Summer Hiatus

Art's BBQ Restaurant and Vel's Catering will be closed from 3 p.m., June 23, through Aug. 21 for their annual summer break. You still have time to get some down-home comfort food at 450 N. Main Ave.; 388-9295.

Closed

A few weeks ago, I reported that Monkey Box was going to reopen at a later date, but apparently the owners changed their minds. Also, Bob's Deli on Campbell Avenue closed when the rent tripled.
