Noshing Around

Chocolate Dinner Rolls

What a find! At first glance into the breadbasket, they look innocent, like whole wheat. But after you give them a light smear of soft butter, the surprising flavor of chocolate subtly explodes in your mouth, revealing one of the best bread baskets on the Tucson dining scene. Agave's executive sous chef, John Cahill, and pastry chef Stephen Jones were brainstorming when then-lead baker, Andy Du, mentioned that he used to make a steamed soft bun in Taiwan that was chocolate-flavored. After tweaking the recipe, the baked soft chocolate roll was born. Agave is located in the Desert Diamond Casino.
