The European Market and Deli is celebrating its grand opening. It's filled with products from the Baltic and Mediterranean regions, wines from Argentina to Australia, beers from around the world, smoked fish, Greek cheeses and kefir, and international candies. BJ's, a California-owned chain restaurant and brewery, recently opened at 4720 N. Oracle Road featuring Chicago-style pizza, generous portions of purportedly better-than-average bar food and a variety of ales and lagers in an industrial setting with an eardrum-piercing ambiance; open daily; 690-1900.
Party in Patagonia
Native Seeds/SEARCH hosts a farm tour and native foods celebration on Saturday, Aug. 13, from 2 to 6 p.m. in more temperate Patagonia. The cost is $50 per person and includes music, locally produced wines and a buffet. · On July 5, Terra Cotta celebrated its 19th anniversary with free burgers and bratwurst, and along with Rural Metro Fire Department's "Fill the Boot" campaign, raised more than $1,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.· Micha's del Norte replaces Mountain View Restaurant.
