Happy Hanukkah

May all your latkes be light. Traditionally, the latke (lot-ka) is a pancake made from grated potatoes mixed with eggs, onions, matzo meal or flour and seasonings, then fried in oil. They're usually served with sour cream or applesauce. Not exactly like Mom's, IHOP's potato pancakes taste OK, as do the latkes at Feig's Deli.


Feds Probe Fried Chicken

Kentucky Fried Chicken's recent ads touting fried chicken as a healthy alternative to other fast food prompted an inquiry by the Federal Trade Commission. The ads have been cancelled, but they'll resume with a fresh theme. The last thing we want is stale fried chicken.
