White Merlot

That's not a typo or a blush wine. White merlot debuts at the new Charron Vineyards in Vail on Dec. 1. But one has to wonder about being color-blind when thinking and drinking wine. Would you drink red chardonnay? Look at white chocolate; it's always been the stepchild for milk and dark chocolate. Stay tuned for specifics and to see how white merlot is positioned in the marketplace.

Hay Long Bay Restaurant

Opening Nov. 1, this new Vietnamese restaurant features soothing tropical décor in the El Mercado Shopping Center at Broadway Boulevard and Wilmot Road.

Locally owned Keva Juice (www.kevajuice.com) opens its second store at the El Mercado Shops next to Ha Long Bay. Their mission is to "wow" every customer on every visit. That's pretty lofty standards for a juice bar--or any business. We'll see if they succeed?
