What was the first concert you ever saw?
Machines of Loving Grace with Beats the Hell Out of Me, and by far the worst band I've ever seen, Scar Strangled Banger.
What CDs are in your changer right now?
The Beatles, "White Album" and Magical Mystery Tour; The Killers, Hot Fuss; The Faint, Wet From Birth; and Radiohead, Amnesiac.
How many total albums do you own (CDs, vinyl, cassettes, 8-tracks)?
Not many. I end up selling all my CDs to make rent every so often. I tend to put the CDs on my computer first, though. In that form, hundreds.
Do you download music, and if so, legally or illegally?
Nope.
What was the first album you owned?
On cassette: Huey Lewis and the News, Sports. On vinyl: Primus, Frizzle Fry. On CD: Blind Melon.
What song would you like played at your funeral?
The Beatles' "I'm Only Sleeping," straight into Radiohead's "Everything in Its Right Place."
Musically speaking, what do you love that your friends don't know about? What's your favorite guilty pleasure?
The theme to The Brady Bunch. The theme to The Gummi Bears. Death Metal.
What band or artist changed your life, and how?
The Beatles. Got me to stop being a dick 90 percent of the time. Now I'm just a dick 30 percent of the time. I'm two-thirds less dick. Which is still plenty of dick.
Figurative gun to your head, what is your favorite album of all time?
Toss up: The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour, Radiohead's OK Computer or Kid A. Better pull that figurative trigger. Bang.
