This New Year's Eve, Westward Look Resort is determined to show you how good the old days really were, offering two different blast-from-the-past events designed to give baby boomers--and anyone else who can appreciate the hippie days--a great time.
First, there's the party in the Santa Catalina Ballroom, where a DJ will get dancers warmed up for local musicians East 2 West, a "classic rhythm rockin' Motown blues band" who'll be covering classics from the '60s and '70s.
If you really want to immerse yourself in bygone times, another party option for the evening is taking place in the Sonoran Ballroom: a 1960s theme party, which will include projector-screen visuals, corny '60s decorations (like tie-dyed T-shirts and peace signs)--and, of course, lots of '60s music, provided by the Retro Rockets, who only play hits. There'll be a dinner buffet, too, complete with appetizers and desserts--though we can't see exactly how Parmesan chicken or grilled salmon fit the '60s theme.
Westward Look also has two pre-party dinners for you to choose from. If you don't plan on dressing up, go for the three-course meal in the casual Lookout Bar and Grille. But if you enjoy elegant dining (and more courses for your money), head over to the Gold Room for a four-course selection. The Bar and Grille dinner costs $40, while the Gold Room meal starts at $65; admission into the Santa Catalina Ballroom is free with dinner (otherwise, admission is $30). The Sonoran Ballroom event costs $75.
