Naturalist Programs

"Neighborhood Characters," an easy 100-yard walk in the cactus garden, reveals recognizable faces in the thorns and plants at 11:45 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 26; free and wheelchair accessible. "Puma: Predator, Prey and Peril," covers the nature of the mountain lion and current threats to its future, at 2:15 p.m., Monday, Jan. 27. "Against All Odds," covers how saguaro cacti are able to grow and thrive, at 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 29. A geologist explains how the Tucson Mountains and Santa Catalina Mountains separated in "Geology of the Tucson Mountains, at 2:15 p.m., every Thursday through Feb. 27.
