To some, Mr. Beans putty face, big bug eyes and guttural grunts are charming and funny. To others, the bumbling Bean is idiotic and downright annoying. Those in the former group will enjoy his innocent misadventures to the French Riviera, where he gets tangled in kidnapping accusations, falls in love and crashes the Cannes Film Festival. Those in the latter group will suffer immensely throughout every painful one of the slow-moving 88 minutes, all the while questioning how Rowan Atkinson has managed to make and maintain a TV and film franchise for more than 20 years with his irritating silent-clown shtick.
