Re: “Baldenegro Sr.: 'A Lie will Endure Only Until the Truth Arrives'

Since we are talking about the truth versuses lies please note the author is incorrect about illegal aliens registering to vote. Romelia Calderon was convicted of voting while not a citizen, her case only came to light when she was running for office in El Mirage. she memorable quote was that "undocumented people get registered to vote left and right" .you can find articles on the matter in Arizona Republic circa 2002-04..I'm sure Mr Baldenegro will publish a clarification..HA!

Re: “Utah: Doing Immigration Right?

I nominate this article for the Calderon Gold Medal in the field rank hypocrisy on the subject of immigration! Anyone who follows this issue will recall that President Calderon of Mexico recently came to the US and bashed Arizona and SB 1070 for it's supposed discrimination against Mexican citizens and their right to "migrate" unfettered in and out of the United States. Later when asked by CNN's Wolf Blitzer if someone could just walk into Mexico he replied of course not they have to apply and we have to verify who they are - and if they look for a job without permission? "Oh we send them back" he said without a hint of self-realization. So now we have Utah and those who oppose SB 1070 who criticize it as an infringement of Federal responsibility on immigration - they have the solution: UTAH "relying on state authority" will issue visas to foreigners "no matter how they got here!!"...Presidente Calderon step aside...there's a new king of crazy

Re: “Hidden Agenda?

I recently read Peter Balakian's book, "The Burning Tigris" an excellent and disturbing account of the Armenian Genocide in Turkey. It also talks about attempts by Turkey to infilitrate and influence America schools at the collegiate level to deny the activities that occured. Interesting that it now appears to be happening at the High School level as well.

Re: “Prop 200 Supporters: Don't Worry About the Money!

One of the lesser discussed provisions of Prop 200 is section g. It states that all conflicts arising from the initiative will be settled by civil actions only. Mr Arnold was nice enough to explain what that meant to me. According to him this section would allow any citizen to sue the city if they felt Prop 200 wasn't being implemented properly! Can you imagine how unworkable that would be?
