Re: “Claytoon of the Day: This is MAGA

Immigration opponents, who do you think will fund your Social Security or your grandkids'? All the $$ we civilians saved up in the SSA Trust Fund has been spent on Cold War military careers in Vietnam, 2 Iraq campaigns and Afganistan.

Wages are stagnant and our birth rate is falling fast. The Baby Bust is irreversible, where will our missing future wage-earners come from without immigration?

The economic inevitabilites of your racist politics will doom us to the same sad fate Japan is now trapped in.

Re: “Architect Threatens To Quit Benedictine Sanctuary Project if City Council Doesn't Play Ball

Those who focus on the property-rights arguments and economics of this project advance the conservative philosophy that the purpose of life is to accumulate wealth. They are diametrically opposed to the Benedictine spiritual philosophy that designed the monastary to elevate the human spirit. That is the eternal conflict confronting Tucson, the endless battle between our basest and our highest human instincts.

What is perhaps best left unsaid is obvious from the project renderings: Rulney is a money-grubbing Prole and Poster is at best a mediocre technician whose designs are always devoid of any artistic merit. In tandem they are sadness incarnate.

Re: “TUSD Magnet Schools, Desegregation, and the Next Step

POSTIMPRESSIONIST: IMHO, the IQs and GPAs we should be concerned with are those of TUSD Board members, TUSD administrators, office staff and teachers. We have no data on these. Glib and smug are not indicators of intelligence.

Second that, TDENTON1138. TW has never been constrained by journalistic ethics. Not their job.

Re: “The Skinny

The bus system suffers because ridership is concentrated among the poor and the young. I suggest closing city and county employee parking lots and offering discounted bus passes. Pressure school districts, the University and hospitals to follow suit and we'd transform Tucson. Time to become a city instead of a swarm of gas-guzzling roadbugs.

Re: “Teachers (and Administrators) in TV and Film: The Final Episode (though there's always the possibility of a sequel)

Looks like your filmography is a work in progess, sir. May I nominate the 1988 film Stand And Deliver, starring Edward James Olmos to your list? Or does it fail to qualify due to being based on the true story of math teacher Jaime Escalante?

I don't see Dead Poets Society (1989) up there either.

Although these films do not invalidate your hypothesis, an all-inclusive list with a longer timeline would improve your data set. Since your Editor evidently finds enough merit in your argument to spend ink on it, perhaps the Weekly's film critics can be put to good use here.
