Re: “Mailbag

Trip to Tombstone for work 12-27-10, Border Patrol checkpoint north of town I counted 27 new patrol units. I-19 checkpoint close to the same, north of Sonoita half the vehicles, Az 86 west of three points 20, Three Points to Sasabe-0. Drive out to Arrivaca early in the morning,6-7am, and watch the exodous of Border Patrol from the night shift. Just think of how many armed, trained Border Patrol personnel are south of us. The daily Star reported Recent slain agent as being shot in the back, last sdentence of article. Was this friendly fire? Where was the personal protection armour he should have been issued, and why was he not wearing this protection on a high rish situation? I travel and hike the west side of the tumacacori mtns, the mtns south of Arrivaca, the areas west of Tres Bellots ranch towards Sasabe, and the east side of the Baboquivaris. The forest service could learn alot from seeing how the smugglers of all kind improve the trails, and in all fairness to Homeland urity as a whole, I personally have seen less use of my forests in over a year. Where I would see multiple, 10-20 or more tracks, I'm now seeing 1-2, that's multiple trips starting in Oct. with the most recent 3 weeks ago, and approximatley 45 cross country miles hiking. As long as you folks with a lot of money, all earned by your hard efforts, have work for someone your not willing to pay a fair wage to, we will have folks trying to get here to cash in. It's not the drugs per say as it is the stupid laws in place. Its you folks paying someone 25% of what a local person would charge, that's the problem
