Re: “Poor Tom: State Can't Intervene in TUSD Deseg Case

Maybe they should go back to the kind of education we had as children where everyone is in a class that teaches and discusses the views of all sides and does not select students from one ethnic group to educate in their ethnicity and each one having their own class. Part of education in the past was to main stream every kind of student and not select some for a different education that others. This happened with the learning disabled and the mentally or physically handicapped. Now they are all in one class but some how, it has changed so that there is a different history class for everyone and explain tome how that teaches American History in America. It seems that they want to separate students and teach different things to each group which is directly opposite of how they have touted mainstreaming all groups of students.

Re: “Going After Grijalva: Raul Faces Primary Challenge

I would doubt that he could do a worse job than Mr. Grijalva in supporting the people of Arizona. Maybe Mr. Grijalva should move and apply for a job in Los Angeles and support a boycott of that city instead of the place that pays him his salary. We need new government representatives in almost every position in this city and State.

Re: “Update: Save Ethnic Studies Calls for Pedicone's Resignation

I believe that Dr. Pedicone knows that he should follow the law until the State tells him to do it differently. Speaking to the teachers isn't going to solve anything as he must follow the law and obviously, they want to continue the teachings of La Raza. And quite frankly, the UA law professors can't get any opinions right when it comes to the "race" issue just as they didn't think that the Supreme Court would side with our state. Law Professors opinions do not equal Courts decisions. If these teachers have taught with "distinction" as this teacher is professing, than why are the grades and skills of the students of the TUSD so low? I can't even sell or rent a home to someone when the house is in TUSD. It already has made a name for itself. I for one would like to see the mentor teacher and the students that disgraced this community at TUSD Board meetings reprimanded and punished for their horrible behavior. It is one thing to demonstrate in the streets but to disrupt a business meeting is way beyond how I view American Citizens. I am quite glad that my child did not attend any schools in this district. My only complaint is that I own a home in the district and these teachers and students have lowered the value of our homes as they have made a name for themselves. Unfortunately, it isn't a good one!
