I am from the same tail end of Gen X and I watch this show each week with a mix of horror and fascination. The honesty of the show is compelling and it's because of that honesty that I am so horrified. The Millennial generation is disgustingly self indulgent and so incredibly spoiled. When you see a show about the dramas they make and face it's a little like spying on the enemy. At the same time, the show evokes sympathy and a heavy does of guilt that these are the children we raised and the expenses we burdened them with and how much we set them up to fail. Dunham has given us the real Sex in the City and she doesn't flinch while doing it. But, man, I do every week. I'll keep watching because who doesn't like a good train wreck?
