    Re: “J.M. on J.M.
weeeell, since you're asking for feedback.
I still don't know if it's really a bad thing, but mostly I find your articles to be just a lot of cute shit. You drop a lot of F-bombs, and loosely bag on cunt brewer and nazi arpaio, but that's not anything, that's just standard and easy and faux-subversive. It's not really provocative, it's just more cute shit.
And as I said, I don't know if this is a bad thing. The Tucson Weekly is no Village Voice, but the VV doesn't even have someone on the weed-beat, so what does that make them? I think there's a weed-beat writer for one of the Bay Area rags, but they review strains, and who knows, they're probably out a job now.
So cute shit works. You'll get uppity foothills stoners to respond, OUTRAGED at this or that that they read in one of your pieces, but to me it's just skating along the surface.
I think I'm looking for something harder hitting. I figure if you're going to have this position you should use it to rile up some folks that have been able to openly float along without any consequence because people that smoke pot have been severely punished and suppressed for a long long time, and no, i'm not talking about border patrol agents taking your friend's stash, either. I'm looking for someone that will deliver information that's useful. Expose the real issues with weed legalization/illegalization. Someone that will take their position seriously and start hitting it hard.
But then again, I think about what that would be and conclude that I'm better off left alone. I have a card now that says I can smoke weed for relief from my pain. What the fuck do I care what anyone says about it?
    ... but you asked.

    Re: “Border Disorder
I recently read that, nationally, the number of jokes known by a single police officer was 2.6. This number stood in stark contrast to the number of jokes known by our more regional south-western border patrol agents, which dripped in at .29. That's right, POINT two-niner of a joke PER! I mention this only to give some perspective on the situation your friends found themselves in - those cops were BORED OUT OF THEIR MINDS.

Seriously though, let's be fair. Clearly they ain't dumb - they just got a free sample of some Arizona kind-bud, shiiiiit.

    Re: “Tipping Point
So last week you suggested buying grow equipment, this week it's that there might be dispensaries. Will all the new home-growers be able to trade in their new grow-lights for meds at the new dispensaries?

It would seem like growing your own makes more sense, but maybe I'm missing something.

Which side are you on - homegrowers or dispensaries?

    Re: “The Lion's Den
It amazes me still how freely scripts are dolled out for Adderall (pharmaceutical-grade meth) at the U of A. It's like EVERY kid there is suffering from ADD or whatever. There's A LOT of students using it, and it's not much talked about. I'd love to see the study on those greedy fingers?

... and what, in fact, is up those people's asses? I mean, it's not just a pot leaf, is it?

Anyway, cops hate pot smokers. It's just the way they were engineered. It's like they've gone berserk with the Milgram experiment. Until the cops get some deprogramming, that herd is SLOW to change.

Call your elected - or soon to be elected - officials, and ask what their position is on MMJ.

    Re: “A Sticky Stigma
I had a drink with some friends this evening and one of them told us that he had called Mayoral candidate, Jonathon Rothschild's office to ask his position on Medical Marijuana. He was told by the woman he spoke with that she would call him back with an answer. As of tonight my friend had not heard back. He had called the Rothschild office yesterday morning.

... just sayin. If your reading this, call your local politicians (or soon to be politicians) and ask what their position is. I, as a voter, want to know, and I want them to know their position makes a difference on how I vote.

    Re: “The Market Adjusts
Oh shit this is awesome. Seriously. I've been wanting some clones, and been discreetly searching for some kind of underground channel (I mean really, as your article points out, there's no instruction or even suggestions from the "authorities" on how to do this). This so obvious that I never would have guessed. I still find myself stunned... this is actually legal for me now. No more mucky weirdness trying to get some relief.

    God bless America, indeed!

    Thanks.
